The United Auto Workers and Ford Motor Company have a tentative agreement—which has not yet been ratified by the UAW’s membership—that should make some nostalgic Ford fans very happy.
Among the company’s agreement to invest $9 billion in its U.S. plants by 2020 is money to build a new version of the iconic Bronco:
Michigan Assembly: $700 million investment with a new product to be added in 2018, expected to be the Ford Ranger, followed by the revival of the Ford Bronco SUV by 2020. The stamping plant will continue to support the Ford Focus and C-Max families of vehicles until they are moved elsewhere in 2018.
There are a lot of verions of what the new Ford Bronco may look like (here), but no confirmed designs have been released yet by the company.
