Too Hotsky-to-Trotsky: CFPB Creator Warren Upset With Ad Depicting Her As 'Communist Dictator'

“Truth isn’t mean. It’s truth.” — Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the creator of the Big Brother-like “Consumer Financial Protection Bureau” (CFPB) is upset with an ad that ran during the GOP debate earlier this week.
The CFPB, a fairly new federal bureaucracy with huge sweeping powers that began under the law known as “Dodd Frank,” has an ostensibly laudable goal: To help “consumer finance markets work by making rules more effective, by consistently and fairly enforcing those rules, and by empowering consumers to take more control over their economic lives.”
However, when Big Brother inserts its tentacles into anything, it is never pretty and often—like the NSA’s spying program—results in governmental intrusion and overreach, as has been the case with the CFPB.

The CFPB has recently introduced a program to obtain and monitor over 500 million credit card accounts belonging to Americans. The Agency has refused to consult with Congress on the program and will not let Americans opt out. A majority of respondents (55%) believe the CFPB’s data collection program is similar to or worse than the controversial NSA monitoring program. [Emphasis added.]

Even worse, as the CFPB touches everything affecting Americans’ everyday lives, there is a propensity for things to go wrong:

The CFPB was created to bring all consumer financial products under one regulatory umbrella. It oversees everything in the financial sector that affects consumers — from credit cards, to mortgages, to auto and student loans. In its short history, the agency has responded so quickly and forcefully to allegations of consumer harm that few have questioned its expanding authority or overlapping jurisdiction with other federal regulators. [Emphasis added.]

As a result of the CFPB’s overreaching powers, when the American Action Network ran the ad below (during the GOP debates earlier this week) which creatively depicts the accuracy of the CFPB’s reaching into the lives of every American, CFPB creator Warren took offense.
Here’s the ad:

Following the airing of the ad, Warren took to Twitter to voice her displeasure and tell her followers she was not amused.

Others, however, were amused and their responses to “Comrade” Warren’s response to the ad were even more amusing.

Hat-tip.
