Teamsters, already seeing pension cuts, come together


Like thousands more across the country, Teamsters in Illinois and Ohio are seeing their pensions cut due, in large measure, to the severe underfunding of the Teamsters’ Central States Pension Plan.
On Sunday, members of Teamsters Local 371 gathered at their union hall to try to do something about it.

The union is pushing for “Keep Our Penstion Promises Act of 2015” to be passed. This act would protect members and retirees in financially troubled multiemployer pension plans. Those that helped to organize the meeting encouraged union members to contact local representatives to attempt to gain their support.
