Very often, employers are caught off guard when they receive a petition from the National Labor Relations Board for an election.
In hindsight, however, they usually recognize that there were tell-tale signs well before they received the NLRB petition—if only they knew how to spot them.
The following presention is often given during management training and gives some of the early warning signs of union-organizing activity or, in the absence of union activity, behavioral patterns indicating issues that could lead to union activity.
