Based on the latest job approval polls for the governor in New Jersey, it seems as though New Jerseyans might actually want Governor Chris Christie to win the White House—if only to get him out of the statehouse.
Gov. Chris Christie may be soaring in New Hampshire, but back in New Jersey, voters are just sore.
The governor’s job approval has slipped to its lowest point, and his disapproval rate has reached a new high, according to a new Rutgers-Eagleton poll.
Just 33 percent of registered New Jersey voters now approve of his performance, a drop of six points since October. More, 62 percent disapprove, up six points.
Christie’s personal favorability ratings are also in the tank in his home state: Two out of three voters have an unfavorable opinion of him.
Perhaps he’ll have better luck in New Hampshire, where—with the exception of Donald Trump—Christie’s leading the GOP pack.
